Royals Vs Yankees

My sister, Janessa, and her fiancĂ© came to visit Dean and I this weekend  - which was a blast.  I've been a lucky little lady lately.  Janessa has been up 3 different times in the past month or so.  I was so happy to have gotten to spend that time with her.  It saddens me at times to think we used to spend that much time together and now that we are 3 hours apart and with different work schedules and we are lucky if we see each other once over 2 months.  So you can see how grateful I was to get to hang with my BFF!

The 4 of us went to the Royals game this past Friday and we had incredible weather!

It's obvious it was not picture day for Dean!

Busy Bee's

If you haven't noticed - It's been a while since I've blogged about Dean and I's life.  So to catch y'all up here is what we've been up to:

  • I'm learning my Camera and have taken a few classes as well as having some photography sessions.   I love it!  It doesn't even fill like work - total plus.  It's so much fun to shot with my camera in the manual mode.  I'm learning so much and loving every minute of it!  Next up is an editing class - I'm pretty jazzed about that!
  • I've been learning my new job - working in the Emergency Department at Children's Mercy South.  I've met so many amazing people and so many phenomenal nurses.
  • Dean is still in Iowa during the week - working his tail off!  :)  Side note: he has a very cute tail at that! ;)
  • On the weekends we've been doing some hard core house searching.  This  last weekend we made an offer on our 5th house.  Our goal is to buy a foreclosure or a HUD home that we can get for a great price so we are able to fix it up and make it our own.  What comes with these types of homes is bidding wars and the guessing game of making the best offer.  So far no luck.  Dean and I've been praying since day 1 of our home searching that God would open the door to not only the right home but the right location.  It's all in God's hands and the prayers continue.
  • Sunday evenings is our small group --- total support system and have no idea what we'd do without this group of people.  It has completely changed our lives.  We are so blessed to have such an amazing church family!  :)
